Your Guide to i360 Grassroots - Call Overview

i360 Call is now built directly into i360 Grassroots, making it the only app volunteers need for calls, texts, and door-to-door canvassing. Everything you know about making calls is still here — surveys, automated dialing, and household response tracking — now living inside the same app as your walk surveys.

Important: Our legacy i360 Call app will continue to work through December 8, but we recommend switching to i360 Grassroots as soon as possible. After December 8, the legacy i360 Call app will no longer be supported. (Note: i360 Text's cutover to Grassroots happens earlier, on September 22.)

App Download

i360 Grassroots is available in both the App Store (iOS) and Google Play Store (Android).

  • Search for i360 Grassroots and select the app.

  • Follow the prompts to download.

  • Select Open when the download is complete.

Logging In

  • Enter your username (the email used to create your account) and password (provided by your coordinator).

  • If using a personal device, check Remember Me to save your credentials for faster logins.

  • Lose your credentials? Select I forgot my password or contact your coordinator.

  • If you belong to multiple organizations, you'll be prompted to select one after logging in.

Selecting a Call Survey

After logging in, you'll be prompted to select a survey.

  • If no surveys appear, contact your coordinator — it's likely you haven't been assigned to one yet.

  • Once you select a survey, you'll see a stats overview showing Total Targets, Primary Targets, Secondary Targets, and Targets Remaining.

  • Select Preview to review the call script before you start, or select Take Call to begin dialing.

Automated Dialing

Automated dialing works most efficiently when four or more volunteers are calling for the same survey at the same time, as that volume triggers the Predictive Dialer. Automated dialing streamlines calls by skipping bad numbers and no-answers, and includes all phone types specified during survey creation.

While you're waiting to connect, you can choose which music plays for the voter on hold. Select your preferred genres (or Select All) — your selection will play on the next hold.

Throughout each call, you'll also have access to:

  • Mute: Mutes your microphone.

  • Speaker: Activates your device's speaker, removing the need for a headset.

  • Call Break: The app will wait for your input before connecting the next call.

  • Add as Volunteer: Allows you to add another volunteer into the call.

  • Dial Pad: Lets you manually enter numbers during the call.

During the Call

Once connected to a voter, you'll see the target's name, phone number, and address, along with the greeting script and household response options.

  • The target voter is marked with a star and includes their age and gender.

  • Follow the greeting script, then select Start to begin the survey.

If you can't complete the survey with the voter, choose the response that fits:

  • Refused

  • Not Home

  • Machine (answering machine)

  • Busy Signal

  • Bad Number

  • Do Not Call

Note: Only select Do Not Call if a voter specifically requests not to be called again, as this will remove the number from future call lists.

Taking the Survey

Once the voter agrees to answer questions, follow the on-screen script:

  • Each question is numbered (e.g., "Question 1 of 7") and may show different script wording depending on the target's district, party, or other attributes — this is expected and reflects how the survey was built.

  • Select an answer, then choose Next to continue, or Previous to go back.

  • Some questions accept open-ended responses. Select the text field, enter the voter's answer, and select Add Text.

  • If a question doesn't apply, select Skip to move to the next one.

When the survey is complete, follow the closing script, then select Hang Up & Submit to save the results and move to the next call.

Icons and Their Meanings

  • A star next to a name denotes the target voter.

  • The status legend on your survey and household screens follows the same icon set used elsewhere in i360 Grassroots.

Important: Pre-Recorded Voicemails

At the time of this article's publishing, pre-recorded voicemails are not available to most clients due to recent regulatory changes. If your organization does have this enabled, please review all regulations with your team before calling.
